1. Nature of Estimates
All estimates and quotations provided by Petun Flooring are preliminary assessments intended to provide a project cost overview. An estimate is not a final contract or a guaranteed fixed price until a formal sales agreement is signed and a professional on-site verification has been completed by our authorised team.
2. Measurement Responsibility
- Customer-Provided Measurements: If a client provides their own measurements for a material-only purchase or an installation quote, Petun Flooring assumes no responsibility for shortages, overages, or the unsuitability of the material for the space. Any additional material required to complete a project due to inaccurate customer measurements will be charged at the current market rate, plus additional delivery fees.
Professional Measurement: We strongly recommend a professional on-site measurement by our certified installers to ensure accuracy and account for waste factors (typically 5–10%).
3. Unforeseen Subfloor and Site Conditions
Our estimates are based on visible surface conditions at the time of inspection. Petun Flooring is not responsible for, nor can we accurately quote, “hidden” issues that may be discovered after the removal of existing flooring. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Subfloor rot or structural water damage.
- Excessive unevenness requiring extra levelling compound.
- The presence of hazardous materials (e.g., asbestos) or mould.
- Inadequate subfloor thickness or stability. If such conditions are discovered, a “Change Order” will be issued, and additional costs for labour and materials will be applied before work continues.
4. Quote Validity and Market Fluctuations
Due to the fluctuating costs of raw materials (hardwood, vinyl, and freight) in the Canadian market, all quotes are valid for a period from the date of issuance. After this period, Petun Flooring reserves the right to adjust pricing based on current supplier rates.
5. Site Readiness
Estimates assume that the project site will be ready for installation on the scheduled date. If our crew arrives and the site is not prepared (e.g., furniture not moved, subfloor not cleared, or other trades still working in the area), a site trip fee or rescheduling fee may be charged to the client.
6. Discrepancies in Product Appearance
While we strive to provide accurate samples, small samples may not show all the variations in colour, grain, or texture of a full floor. Petun Flooring is not responsible for minor aesthetic variations between showroom samples and the final delivered product, as these are inherent characteristics of natural and manufactured flooring materials.
