    Description

T-molding is a versatile type of flooring transition piece used primarily to create a seamless connection between two floors of the same or very similar height. Here’s where it is commonly used:

    1. Between Rooms with Similar Flooring:

    • Ideal for connecting floors of the same material, such as laminate-to-laminate or vinyl-to-vinyl, in adjacent rooms.
    • Frequently placed in doorways or thresholds.

    2. Transition Between Different Flooring Types:

    • Used when transitioning between two types of flooring, like laminate and tile or wood and vinyl, as long as their heights are nearly the same.

    3. In Large Flooring Installations:

    • Acts as an expansion joint in large rooms where the flooring material, such as laminate or engineered wood, requires a break to accommodate natural expansion and contraction.

    4. Around Obstacles:

    • Used around immovable objects, such as built-in cabinets or pillars, to create a neat transition where flooring meets these structures.

    Benefits:

    • Creates a polished, uniform appearance.
    • Allows for slight movement of flooring, preventing buckling or warping.

Note: T-molding is not suitable for bridging height differences. For such cases, a reducer or stair nose molding is a better choice.
